Our goal: Find what the internet ranks as the best Kate Atkinson books (instead of one person's opinion).
We researched the best books lists for poker and averaged their answers for each book pick. We show all our sources above each "View on Amazon" button.
According to our research, the best book is "Harrington on Hold'em" by Daniel Harrington. It got the most good recommendations out of all these popular poker books, and in terms of review it also won.
According to our research, it's "Moorman's Book of Poker" by Chris Moorman. Though it's #22 on our list, the author is known as the most successful online poker player in history (though if we missed a better book please let us know).
This might be controversial, but we think it is. Though poker has elements of luck, the top players at the end of tournaments are always the same. So it has to be about skill far more than luck.
If you read them all? We're sure of it! Obviously you'll have to practice the lessons, adjust what you learn, etc etc... And obviously most people won't read all these books. But if you do? It's hard to imagine you not becoming a good player.
I mean we can't say no. And we can't say yes. It depends on you. We're sure professional players have read several of these books, but we doubt that's all it takes for anyone to become a pro player. We're sure it'll help you become good, but pro? Super hard to say...
Keep in mind this is personal and coming from beginners who are barely good, but YouTube is (to us) a great poker resource... and it's free! We love watching the best poker players against each other (with commentary so we understand everything happening).
We believe poker offers a lot. For example it teaches you useful topics like how to calculate odds and deal with uncertainty. In fact, we know a few of the successful people on our site had an interest in Poker (e.g. Bill Gates and Carl Icahn). Poker rules!
