Blood Brothers Summary

In 1652, in a place called Hawkins Hollow, Maryland, Giles Dent and Ann Hawkins find themselves accused of witchcraft by a malevolent entity named Lazarus Twisse, disguised as a man. The allegation originates from a young girl, Hester Deale, manipulated by the evil demon. Giles sends away pregnant Ann, carrying triplets, before Twisse arrives. As the townsfolk, now followers of Twisse, set Giles on fire, he manages to drag Twisse into the flames.

Fast forward to 1982, the site of this inferno is now known as the Pagan Stone. Three best friends — Cal, Fox, and Gage — make a blood pact of loyalty on this stone the day before their tenth birthday. As they make the pact, they levitate as fire and wind encircle them. As adults, Cal and Fox remain in the Hollow, while Gage seeks similar inexplicable phenomena across the globe. Every seven years, the town of Hawkins Hollow is plagued by an evil force that influences its inhabitants to commit acts of violence. This recurring phenomenon, known as "the Seven," doesn't affect the trio or their families, and they never suffer from illness or injury.

Fast forward to their thirtieth year, Cal and Fox experience nightmares, insinuating that the evil might return earlier and more potent. Around this time, Quinn Black, a writer, visits the town, intrigued by its history. Quinn, during her stay, and Layla Darnell, an outsider having similar nightmares, are drawn into the mystery. The trio is intrigued by their experiences, wondering if they too are linked to the town. Quinn and Layla opt to stay longer in the town, developing a relationship with the trio. The gang discovers possible familial links to the original victims, Giles and Ann. They also find out about a demon named Tmavy, which they believe is the same entity that has been causing havoc in the town. The friends prepare themselves to fight this entity, feeling that their ancestors might have bestowed upon them the power to vanquish it.
