Author bio
Christina C Jones writes romance with range. Across her catalog, you'll find college-town rom-coms, warm community love stories, sports romance, Vegas drama, romantic suspense, and paranormal detours. What ties it all together is her focus on Black love, lively conversation, and characters who feel like people you might actually know.
Before writing full time, she worked in digital media and graphic design, and she ran a creative design studio called Visual Luxe. In 2014, she made the jump to writing as her full-time job. That shift matters when you look at the body of work she has built since then. The list is long, the worlds are connected, and the voice stays clear all the way through.
That design background still shows.
Her books tend to live in places that feel specific and inhabited. Blackwood, Mahogany Heights, Blakewood, Sugar Valley, and Vegas all come up again and again, not just as backdrops, but as communities. Side characters drift from one story to the next. A bartender in one book might matter more later. A family you meet in passing might anchor a whole series after that. It gives her catalog a lived-in feeling that makes reading around especially fun.
A few titles give a good sense of the spread. Getting Schooled is a sharp, funny college romance that leans hard into banter and chemistry. Love Notes is warm, intimate, and rooted in the everyday life of Mahogany Heights. Ante Up brings higher stakes, with Vegas glamour, danger, and power in the mix. Haunted opens the door to her paranormal side, while Hostile Takeover shows how good she is at writing pressure, attraction, and two very strong personalities locked in the same room. Even when the settings and tropes change, her stories usually keep a close eye on family, friendship, vulnerability, and the mess people carry into love.
She likes love stories that feel lived in.
Outside her novels, Jones has also been active in building community around Black romance. She co-founded Girl, Have You Read, a digital platform that helps spotlight Black romance writers and their work. Her writing and perspective have also been featured in outlets including The Grio, Oprah Magazine, and Shondaland.
She is also a digital creator, which fits. A lot of her work, on and off the page, comes back to presentation, storytelling, and making things feel intentional without sanding off the personality.
Jones lives in Arkansas with her husband and their two children. She has said she loves making beautiful things, and that shows up in the details people mention about her life too: cooking, crafting, and even designing and building a home with her family. It feels very in step with the books, grounded, creative, and interested in what it takes to build something that lasts.
