Author bio

Charleigh Rose writes romance that likes to flirt with trouble. Her stories are full of guarded people, bad timing, sharp chemistry, and the kind of feelings that make sensible choices very hard to keep. In the short bio she shares, she says she lives in 'Narnia' with her husband and two young children, loves pizza, and spends the in-between hours reading, parenting, and writing moody, broody, swoony love stories.

That mix is a pretty good map for her work.

Rose's published career began in 2016 with Stepdaddy Savage, followed by more books in the Savage People world. Early on, she leaned into taboo setups and intense emotional stakes. Before long, though, she was also building the kind of connected contemporary romances that many readers now know her for, where side characters feel important enough to carry the next book.

In Misbehaved, she takes a school setting and loads it with danger, grief, and a forbidden attraction. With the Bad Love series, starting with Bad Habit and continuing through Bad Intentions and Bad Influence, she settles into a linked River's Edge world full of bruised reputations, sibling bonds, old mistakes, and people trying to decide whether love is worth the mess it brings.

She likes a push-pull romance. A lot.

Rewrite the Stars shows another side of her writing. It keeps the emotional intensity, but drops it into a traveling carnival, where privilege, risk, and summer freedom collide. Shorter works like Yard Sale and Guys Like You show she can also work in a quicker format without losing the heat or the angst. Then Tell Me Pretty Lies and Break Your Little Heart return to the connected-cast approach, this time with wealthy families, college tension, and plenty of secrets hanging over Heartbreak Hill.

Across her books, certain patterns keep showing up. Rose tends to write characters in that late-teen to early-twenties stretch where everything feels immediate: first real independence, family fallout, social pressure, grief, jealousy, and attraction that arrives at the worst possible time. Her heroes are often rough around the edges, sometimes older, sometimes off-limits, and usually carrying more than they say. Her heroines may be softer than they first appear, but they are rarely passive. They push back, make mistakes, and keep moving even when the people around them underestimate them.

She also seems to enjoy building worlds that feel a little bigger with every book. River's Edge and Heartbreak Hill are not just backdrops. They are places where reputations stick, friendships overlap, and one person's heartbreak becomes the next person's story. That connected feeling is a big part of the appeal for readers who like to stay in a fictional orbit for a while.

Rose has shared a few small but telling details with readers over the years. She has said that Charleigh Rose used to be a joint pen name and is now a solo project. She has also chatted with readers about future side-character books, which fits the way her stories naturally leave room for the next couple waiting in the wings.

She keeps the spotlight on the books more than on herself.

If you come to Charleigh Rose for polished sweetness, you may be in the wrong aisle. If you come for messy feelings, forbidden pulls, and romances that know love is often bound up with fear, pride, and bad ideas, you will probably feel right at home.
